Valentine’s Day with Josh Groban on Ellen
Had the opportunity to perform with Josh Groban yesterday for Ellen’s Valentine’s Day Special.
Academy Award winning sound designer Gwen Whittle challenged our boundaries in the most interesting 3 hours of work I think I’ve ever had. Though it’s possible my half decent “cricket” sound got me hired, we ended up making a bunch of menacing insect sounds, inhaling noises, creaks, snaps, buzzing and humming… you name it. Because I was one of the only chics, they ended up using my smaller higher sounds for a minor side-kick character called “Skeet”. I’m so stoked for this opportunity and can’t wait to hear what they end up keeping!

Really excited to be able to sing on such a beautiful score. James Newton Howard always comes up with great stuff… eerie yet melodic… the perfect balance to entrance you yet not distract you.
I think singing on two songs of Michael Buble’s next album, has to be one of the most incredible sessions I’ve ever had. He was super kind, starting the session out with a “come on now… let’s hug it out” and passed out hugs to us three singers. He had great musicality, was open to suggestions and was super encouraging. All this… AND crazy funny the whole time. The two tunes we did (produced by Bob Rock) included one original tune and a remake of oldie but goodie. I can’t wait to hear the whole album!

Singing for the third season of the voice has been a blast. Had the opportunity to sing choral for Amanda Brown in her December 3rd performance and will sing for the Semi-final performances which air live Monday December 10th.
I recently spoke with a reporter for the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. They put out an article covering the upcoming Christmas concert I’ll be performing in at Real Life Church December 14th and 15th.
“This production is filled with people at the top of their game…All the performers have such serving hearts,” Donnelly said. “They are humble professionals that want to give their best and want to be used to give a gift back to the community.”
Real Life Church’s annual Christmas concert will be held Dec. 14 and 15 at 7 p.m. at the church on 23841 Newhall Ranch Road.

Recently recorded on four songs for Josh Groban’s new album. They are incredible songs and was blown away by the amazing vocal arrangements by Grammy nominated Roger Treece. While each song has a very different in style, the signature Groban sound grabs the heart in each one. Chairman of Warner Brother’s Music, Rob Cavallo, was incredibly encouraging and hospitable. It was so great getting to know him and the way his musical brain ticks.
