Clinton Fundraiser with Barbara Streisand

One of my most cherished memories was being hired to sing in a group to back up Barbara Streisand as part of a fundraiser for President Clinton. Barbara Streisand was very down to earth at the rehearsals and President Clinton was incredibly kind, greeting us with hugs and even a box of chocolates for each of us with a sticker of the presidential seal on it. (Which I’m pretty sure is the only box of chocolates given to me that I haven’t torn into and eaten!) Heading home from the event I received a text from a friend: “Did I just see you hug the president of the United States on the news right now????” So surreal to text back “Yes!”

Had the unique opportunity work with my daughter Claira, age 4, for the first time on Dr. Seus’s: The Lorax to be released in 2012. She’s playing the part of Marie and I did vocal work as various town-folk in the Dr. Seus classic. The movie featuring Taylor Swift and Zack Effron.

You can catch me singing the part of Patty Farrell in “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.” The character performs an over-dramatic version of “Memory” in the town’s talent show. This was such a fun project.
